There are silhouettes you recognize at a single glance. The American M1, with its domed shell and rolled edge, its netting adorned with fabric, and its small first aid pouch strapped on top, is one of them: it is the image of the 1944 infantryman.
This reproduction arrives assembled. You have nothing to put together: the inner liner is in place, the leather chinstrap is attached, the net is already trimmed with brown and green fabric strips, and the first aid pouch is strapped to the top. Everything is olive drab, one size fits all.
It is a piece for reenactment and decor as much as it is a game piece. On an airsoft field, the shell protects against BBs hitting the top of the head, but the manufacturer does not claim any safety standards: keep your certified goggles or protective mask on for your eyes and face.
The garnished net is also the raison d'être of the helmet: it breaks up the round silhouette, catches vegetation, and allows you to slide in branches or additional burlap. To take your camouflage further, check out our ghillie accessories.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a period helmet? No, it is a modern reproduction. It recreates the shape and accessories, not the original markings or materials.
Does it protect against BBs?The shell covers the top of the skull, but no standards are claimed by the manufacturer. The face and eyes remain exposed: goggles or a protective mask are mandatory.
Does the first aid pouch open?It is provided empty and strapped to the helmet. Nothing indicates that it contains medical supplies.
Is the net removable? It is mounted on the shell and can be removed for a cleaner look, or further garnished with burlap and vegetation.
