Most Hi-Capa clones (Armorer Works, WE, Vorsk, KJW) follow the Tokyo Marui architecture, and most upgrade parts are designed to the Marui standard: they often fit, but not always without fitting work. Tolerances change from one brand to another, which matters most for the hop-up chamber, the nozzle, the hammer and sear group, and magazines. This guide helps you know what to check before buying.

Why Talk About the "Marui Standard"?
Tokyo Marui's GBB Hi-Capa is the reference: most parts makers have aligned with its dimensions. Shops therefore often list parts "for Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa" or "TM spec". Clone brands took this base, each with its own manufacturing tolerances. The result: a "TM spec" part has a good chance of fitting a clone, with no guarantee of a drop-in fit.

The Parts That Cause Problems Most Often
Magazines
A magazine from one brand may go into another brand's frame, but feeding is not guaranteed: lip height, valve position in front of the hammer, locking. For reliability, keep magazines from the same brand as the replica, or models sold as compatible with your base.
Hop-Up Chamber and Nozzle
The nozzle must enter the chamber exactly to push the BB against the rubber and stay sealed. A difference of a few tenths of a millimetre is enough to cause leaks or double feeds.
Hammer, Sear and Trigger
These parts work together. Mixing a hammer from one brand with a sear from another can cause weak strikes or doubles. Buy them as a complete set designed for your base.
Slide and Frame
"TM spec" slides often fit clones, but the fit on the frame rails can be too tight or too loose. Light fitting work is common.
Before Buying a Part for a Clone
- Identify your replica precisely: brand, model (5.1 or 4.3), version.
- Look for your brand in the part's listing, not just "Hi-Capa".
- Change one part at a time and test before moving to the next.
- Keep the original parts: they are your reference if something goes wrong.
Tokyo Marui or Clone Base for a Build?
A clone often costs less to buy, but every upgrade may need fitting. A Tokyo Marui base takes the widest choice of parts with the least rework. That is why the BDU Custom Lab builds its Hi-Capa SLEEPERs only on new Tokyo Marui bases.
