Treating the AAP-01C as a simply shortened AAP-01 is a serious mechanical mistake. While 90% of the internal parts (trigger group, hammer, sear, nozzle) are identical, the upper receiver, hop-up unit, outer barrel and stock bolt use different tolerances and mounting points. Fitting an aftermarket upper or a standard carbine kit on a C version without checking dimensions leads to major incompatibilities or a misaligned sight line.

Upper Receiver Design and Integrated Rails

The primary visual and structural difference lies in the upper receiver. The original AAP-01 has a smooth tubular outer barrel and needs optional screw-on Picatinny rails to mount optics or accessories. Its design lets you unscrew the flash hider to expose a 14 mm counter-clockwise (CCW) thread, so a tracer or suppressor fits directly.

The AAP-01C uses a one-piece molded upper with a built-in top Picatinny rail and a lower rail under the barrel. The AAP-01C comes with a shorter, lighter polymer bolt than the standard AAP-01. This lower reciprocating mass changes how the replica cycles:
